Specialised Petroleum Services was founded in 1991, merging in 2000 with AFOS. The company expanded further in 2001 through a merger with Global Completion Services (GCS). The enlarged group changed its trading name to SPS International in 2002 and has since extended its position as the world's largest supplier of pre-completion wellbore cleanup services.
