Established in 1993 by four founding shareholders, GST Holdings is headquartered in Beijing with manufacturing facilities, a research and development team and a network of 88 sales offices, 600 sales and after-sales technical support teams covering six key sales regions across China.

GST holds the number one position in the domestic fire security sector, with a 23% market share by number of products sold and 14% based on revenues in 2003, which is nearly twice that of its closest competitors.

The company is primarily engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of fire alarm systems and fire alarm network products. It is also involved in related products including building security products (CCTV), building automation systems and electronic power metres.

The company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on June 30, 2005 and at April 4, 2006, the market capitalisation was US$347m.
