Paul Longhenry joins 3i Global Venture Capital Team

14/06/2007

MENLO PARK, California - June 13, 2007 - 3i, world leading private equity and venture capital firm, welcomes Paul Longhenry as a Director in its Venture Capital team and its Menlo Park office.

Paul joins the firm from Sonim Technologies, a 3i portfolio company where he most recently served as the Vice President of Business Development.  During 3+ years with Sonim, Paul was responsible for the company’s strategic partnerships across a wide range of network equipment providers, wireless handset vendors and commercial distribution channels.  He leaves Sonim with the company in commercial execution phase and will continue to remain closely involved as a member of the company’s advisory board.

This is Paul’s second appointment to 3i’s global Venture Capital team, as he was previously a Senior Associate with 3i from 2001 to 2003.  During that time he focused on opportunities in wireless software, infrastructure and services and participated in 3i’s early stage financing of Sonim and other wireless businesses.  His return to the firm adds experience and strengthens an investment team that now spans Silicon Valley, London, Cambridge, Helsinki, Munich, Paris and Stockholm.

"We are thrilled to welcome Paul to the global team” said Jim McLean, Partner at 3i Venture Capital and Head of the firm’s US Venture team.  “His appointment will allow us to accelerate our support of potential market leading businesses across the technology landscape of the US market.”

Paul’s early career experience also includes several years as an investor with The Yucaipa Companies, a Los Angeles-based leveraged buyout fund, and work as an investment banker with Bear Stearns, specializing in mergers and acquisitions.  Paul graduated magna cum laude in Finance and Economics from the University of Southern California.
