In April 2007, Dockwise merged with Norwegian heavy marine transport specialist, Sealift, and the combined company has made two further strategic acquisitions: Offshore Kinematics Inc., which provides a full range of floatover installations systems, and Ocean Dynamics LLC, which focuses on engineering and design services for marine installations and structures.

The company employs more than 800 people across operations in The Netherlands, Australia, China, South Korea, Africa and the US. In October 2007, Dockwise fully listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, with 3i retaining a 26.2% stake.

Dockwise has a unique opportunity to capitalise on the strong visible growth in market demand during the next three to four years. A sustained increase in oil exploration and production activity has resulted in a significant increase in the volume of oil and gas rigs, both new and existing, that need to be transported to offshore oil basins.

Large onshore and offshore production infrastructure and installations are also required to capitalise on successful exploration activities.
